About
Canberra City Gymnastics Club
A brief history
Canberra City Gymnastics (CCGC) has served the Canberra community since its opening in 1978, and has seen thousands of members pass through its doors in that time. The club membership has grown substantially over the years and now boasts over 1500 children and young adult members attending activities every week.
Programs run by the club start at “BabyGym” and progress through KinderGym, Junior Recreational, Development & Competitive squads. Throughout the years, CCGC has repeatedly fielded teams of gymnasts to compete at State & National championships.
CCGC is a community based, not-for-profit sporting corporation (limited by guarantee). The club is run by a volunteer committee, full & part time management, coaching & administrative staff who are all focused on promoting the benefits of gymnastics in the community.
What Our Club is All About?
The clubs objective is very simple: “To give every member the opportunity to reach the highest level that they are each capable of achieving….to one child the goal maybe to do a cartwheel, to another it maybe to become an Olympic champion”.
The club also hosts many different youth programs which include acrobatics and tumbling through to adult gymnastics. We also offer a very supportive schools program that invites all schools to use the facility as a part of their sporting programs.
Canberra City Gymnastics Club offers:
- A highly regarded sports coaching and sports administration
- A national profile
- A high quality sporting and social environment
- A community focus
